When you think about being relaxed and confident, visualize how your body would feel—standing taller, smiling, and breathing deeply. By associating these physical sensations with relaxation, you can begin to transfer that feeling into other areas of your life, such as work and health.


3. Apposition of Opposites


Recognizing that you can hold two opposing states simultaneously is powerful. While you may feel anxious, you also have the capacity for calm and confidence. Acknowledging this duality helps you focus on your strengths and past successes, shifting your mindset towards positivity.


4. The Negative


Using negative phrasing can sometimes help remove mental blocks. For example:

- "It’s not impossible to feel relaxed about marriage."

- "It’s not beyond you to channel your energy positively into other areas of your life."


This method subtly encourages you to think more positively.


5. Shock, Surprise, and Creative Moments


Think back to a time when you felt unexpectedly relaxed and confident. What was surprising about that moment? How did it differ from your usual experience? By reflecting on these creative moments, you can identify triggers that help you feel more at ease and work to recreate them.


6. Implication and the Implied Directive


This technique involves suggesting outcomes indirectly. For instance:

- "When you start feeling more relaxed, you’ll naturally find your confidence growing. This will help you in all areas of your life."


By implying positive outcomes, you encourage your mind to move in that direction.


7. Binds and Double Binds


Binds involve presenting two positive choices, both leading to the desired outcome. For example:

- "Whether you focus on your health or your work, you will start feeling more relaxed and confident."

- "As you become more aware of your strengths, your unconscious mind will help you feel even more at ease."


These options empower you to take positive steps, regardless of the path you choose.


Applying NLP to Your Life


By integrating these NLP techniques, you can start to shift your mindset towards feeling more relaxed and confident. Here’s how to apply them in your daily life:


1. Practice Affirmations: Use the Yes Set and Reinforcement technique to remind yourself of your past successes and capabilities.
